Kristin knew, at a very young age, that she wanted to be a hairstylist. Growing up in a military family, she was born in the Panama Canal Zone, and lived in many different states and other countries. After settling down in San Diego and finishing college, she went to Cosmetology school in Oceanside. After graduation, she wasted no time in building an extensive clientele at her own salon, “Salon Nolas.” From there she became an Artistic Director for Redken, and traveled the globe teaching and attending educational seminars. In between these seminars, she still managed to attend to her clientele, as well as continuing to educate her assistants. After she felt she’d reached her maximum creative potential in La Jolla, she decided to pursue another dream and “Reach for the Stars!” It was time to face the challenge of the very competitive styling world of Los Angeles. She wanted to become a celebrity hairstylist.
In Los Angeles, she was very fortunate to attend to personal grooming for Lionel Richie. She styled him for his red carpet appearances for the TV Land Awards. She worked side by side with photographer Annie Leibovitz for his Vanity Fair editorial shoot with Susanne De Passe.
In addition, she was department Head Hair for Lionel Richie’s ninth studio album with Akon called ‘Just Go,” starring Evan Ross.
She has styled clients for MGM, Disney, and television shows, “The Apprentice” and The Espy’s.
She could be found working as Key Hairstylist for many seasons of CW’s "Dr. Drew’s Life Changers,”
on the set of “CNN Hero’s,” “America’s Got Talent,” and MTV Video Music Awards.
She was Key hair stylist for the Fiat car commercial, starring Fitz and the Tantrums.
In 2016, she traveled to Atlanta with Director Steve Carr, to assist as Key Hair in his Disney movie called “Middle School,” starring Lauren Graham, Griffin Gluck, Andy Daly, Rob Riggle and Thomas Barbusca.
Also in 2016, She was department Head Hair for Netflix “Take the 10,” with Director Chester Tam, starring Jordan Rock, Andy Sandberg, Josh Peck, Tony Revolori, Cleopatra Coleman, Kevin Corrigan and Carlos Alasraqui.
In 2017, she was Department Head Hair for episodes of “Dimension 404,” starring Joe McHale, Lea Michele, Patton Oswalt, Adrienne Barbeau, Robert Buckley and Pepe Serna.
Throughout the years, she has styled her HBO executive clients for their Emmy’s and Golden Globe award show appearances.
More recently, she was Key Hair Assistant for the Academy of Motion Picture and Sciences, Oscar’s winner in the Documentary category.
While working with her clients, she prides herself in taking the time needed to give one-on-one, personal attention.
Her passion is to create looks that suit each individual’s facial shape and personalities. In addition, she works hard at making her clients look appropriate for the occasion, whether it is for a glamorous red carpet event or an acting, modeling or editorial project.
She is a sought-after hair artist, who prides herself on professional integrity. She exudes an enduring and infectious positive energy wherever she is present.
